A freelance writer and copywriter, I left Ireland after many years as a reporter, columnist and news editor, covering everything from the sectarian violence and political upheaval, the road to peace to the human stories behind the headlines.
I swapped the streets of Derry and Belfast for the suburban communities of Melbourne, where I have been a journalist for more than a decade, writing a column, feature pieces and news stories for print and digital platforms. It was a privilege and a joy to tell the many many incredible local stories – some throwing spotlights on inadequacies or injustices and forcing change and others showing off the weird and the wonderful that colour our neighborhoods.
For three years I have also been a freelance copywriter for an agency, writing business profiles, trader interviews and blog posts for websites.
Mid 2020, after Covid-19 had smashed its way into our lives and businesses, my role as Regional Editor at Leader Community Newspapers came to an end and I became a freelance writer.
I came to Australia relatively late in life but my love for it, and for all that I’ve discovered here – camping, kayaking, a partner, a rescue dog, and summers that include blue skies and sunshine – burns all the brighter for that.

Combined with that is my love of words and writing.
I love to write. Whether it is bringing life to a business website, shining a light on an important issue, telling a powerful human story or crafting a light-hearted opinion piece, I have the know-how and passion to deliver stories that matter.
If you have a business site, a magazine, a newspaper, or any platform in need of a writer, I am a copywriter, magazine writer, business blogger, ghostwriter for hire and always open to discussing a new proposal. Simply email your query.
